No matter what your views of homosexuality, the defense of the state of Texas in the ruling today should scare the crap out of anyone. According to the news story:
Texas had defended its sodomy law as in keeping with the state's interest in protecting marriage and child-rearing. Homosexual sodomy, the state argued, "has nothing to do with marriage or conception or parenthood and it is not on a par with these sacred choices."
In other words if you are having sex for any reason other than having kids then you are wrong and we find your act criminal. Nice. Just how many people would you say agree with this? I mean if some guy gets a BJ from his wife, do we really want to call that criminal because its not having anything to do with conception? Ridiculous, I say good riddance to this law and all like them. Who is the government or any of us to say what is allowable normal human acts and what are not when they happen in someone's own home? If we allow the government to tell us this, what the hell won't they try to tell us what to do???
